Evans and Sontag: The Visalia Bandits

109 years after this play was originally produced, it came alive again -this time in Visalia. This was the first time this play was "Allowed" to be presented in the city of Visalia. City officials deemed the production's content too controversial.

Originally presented on September 18, 1893, Eva and mother Molly portrayed themselves in the melodrama. This was a big attraction at the time. Possibly not historically accurate to facts, the play was accurate to its original script. Here are a few images from the 2002 Visalia version.
